Delete your data
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This page explains how to delete the data associated with the Maëlia app. You can do it yourself from the app, or ask us for a full deletion — both routes are described below.
Delete it yourself, from the app
Open the profile picker, then the Device Settings gear:
- Manage profiles → Delete for all devices — erases a profile and its data (pages, theme, history, watchlist) on every one of your screens.
- Disconnect account — removes the link with your Apple or Google account, along with the backup attached to it.
- Reset this device — erases all local data on that device, including your server credentials.
Request a full deletion
To erase everything tied to your device group on our servers, use the form below. Include your 8-character Account ID (format XXXX-XXXX): you will find it under Device Settings → Account ID. Without it we cannot reliably locate your data.
What we delete
Once we receive your request, we permanently erase from our servers:
- your device group and the list of devices attached to it;
- every profile in the group: names, avatars, pages, themes and PIN codes;
- synced watch history, watchlists and ratings;
- profile backups and the link to your Apple or Google account;
- push notification tokens and any pending pairing requests.
What this request does not cover
Some data is not in our hands — here is where to delete it:
- Your servers (Plex, Emby, Jellyfin, Kodi) and Trakt — credentials and tokens stay on your device and are never sent to us: reset the device, or revoke access with the service itself.
- Your Pro subscription — deleting your data does not cancel it. Cancel it from the App Store or the Google Play Store, otherwise it keeps renewing.
- Your purchase history — Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep it for their accounting obligations; we cannot erase it on their behalf.
Timing and retention
We process requests within 30 days — in practice, a few days. Live data is deleted immediately; it may persist for up to 30 days in our encrypted backups, which then expire automatically. Once done, deletion is permanent: nothing can be restored.
Deletion request
A real person handles every request and confirms the deletion by email.
